A perfect sailing day, Three races more at the 2009 Europeans

The thermal wind as usual started around 1200 noon, boats before going to the windward mark were conducted through the middle of the town of Lovere, a nice show off for many tourists presents on the different areas of the city. As said in Italian troppo caldo (very hot) day but with nice winds of 11 to 15 knots coming from the southwest as usual 200 to 230 degrees.

The first race saw `buddy` GER 304 (Mashkiwitz, Oehler, Wossala) sailing really fast to the right area and it was not really the left as all local ones were imagining, followed by team Marinepool GER 300 (Koch, Koch, Bornemann) and Austrian Champion AUT 117 (Auteried, Kendler, Moser).

The second race were more stable and normal conditions and the left paid, now it was time for the another Team Marinepool ? Ramadabalaton HUN 77 (Wossala, Vezer, Nemeth) to take the bullet initially was a tactical fight but then they managed to keep their sponsor partners GER 300 behind who finished second. AUT 117 again sailing fast but not enough to pass them ended third.

The third race with lighter winds, gave a surprise at the windward mark where USA 853 (Collins, Peuvrel, Ingrassia) rounded third just behind Marinepool-Ramadabalaton team HUN 77 by GER 304, they went all the way till the rocks and paid. This first downwind USA 853 lost a position but from them on they kept the place, despite some really bad maneuvers one at the first downwind leg, and another at the windward mark that with very light winds and virtually stopped at the offset with the spi flying backwards?
At this point the Wild thing team NOR 128 (Asbjornod, Fikse, Ole Christiansen) were securing their best position at the event a third without knowing that GER 304 were OCS, then they become second and USA 853 third in a surprising day, especially for their bowman, his 6th day in a Soling without never competing in any dinghy class.

This night a serenata event is scheduled at 2100 with full moon and some drinks and food at the docks and yacht club. And tomorrow the racing schedule continues the same, luckily another three races will be sailed putting the program back to its original.
