The weather forecast didn’t look promising, and for the first time in many days it was accurate, by noon instead the normal termal breeze the storm came into the Lake through the Vallecamonica at the north part of Lake Iseo. It brought strong winds initially from the north, then turning to the south, then spinning while started to rain heavily from all different directions, to suddenly complete die but rain still bother. The forecast for Tuesday is better, and not up to the Soling class rules and if weather and time permits, up to three races can be sailed on the day. Starting time was not changed and will be kept at 1300hs.
Sailors had initially a boring waiting time, what they didn’t know that all volunteers with their local weather knowledge started to prepare the banquet when the rain started, a late lunch that was set inside the club measurement area with big long tables, with the famous Italian pasta, lots of wine and beer and followed by fruit salad and ice cream (Gelatissimo)
The only sailors to get wet where the French team (Jozan, Jozan and Coquereaumont ) who after lunch and not a heavy rain anymore, using their famous Teak deck and green hull, an old Dofour Soling from the 70` and proctor mast, some that we can really call as a classic boat, and it is not easy to find.
They went out sailing for some practice, good for them probably the only ones who know a bit more about the North wind at Iseo.
Racing days continue tomorrow at 1300 but late in the evening the whole teams are expected to visit famous region winery Ferghettina (Franciacorta) and taste the local products and a nice welcome with buffet.
