Once more like in 2005 the Marinepool team GER 300 with Roman Koch, Maxl Koch and Gregor Bornemann are the European Champions. It was a difficult event, where the three firsts finished only with 6 points of difference. Austrian Champion AUT 117 with Carl Auteried, Martin kindler and Udo Moser were in the battle till the end, winning the first race of the day and leaving everything to the last one, where they granted the second overall, just three points over Team Marinepool-Ramadabalaton HUN 77 with George Wossala, Karoly Vezer, Peter Nemeth who were defending their 2008 title.
ITA 189 Giuseppe Rossi, Alessandro Sgorbati, Roberto Minola with a great local knowledge won the last race, the first Italian in many years to win a race in a major event in the Soling Class.
Despite a great production at the first race with a 2nd, SLO 1 with Bostjan Antoncic , Gennadi Strakh and Mitja Nevecny the current world champion could not fight in the last race where the win dropped substantially at the start.
The real class duel was with NED 25 Offermans, Dusee, Dusee and USA 853 with Collins, Peuvrel and Ingrassia those last who almost granted their 5th place at the event. It was also the first major event for USA 853 to beat another USA boat(832 with Kamps, Meyer and Kamps) outside the American continent.
The Rien Segaar tropy was won once more from GER 311 with Bizzy Geisler, Bjorn Geisler and Sven Domges the second best country was Austria followed by Netherlands and Italy.
The Best woman placed in the event, the Reloaded trophy donated by ASF Norway, was won this time by local sailor Francesca Sbardolini sailing together with Diego Motta who also won the British Young Helm trophy at the event at age of 19 years old, they both sailed with Torben Von Huth.
The Classic boat and best Italian the Vittorio Porta Trophy winner was ITA 189 with Giuseppe Rossi, Alessandro Sgorbati and Roberto Minola.
